Summary
When he wakes up again, Finn knows some time has passed. He thrashes within his own mind, desperate to open his eyes and actually be a part of the world around him and terrified that he’s doomed to remain trapped in the dark forever. When the thoughts just begin to overwhelm him the sound of approaching footsteps distracts Finn. The feeling of sunshine precedes Poe’s voice.
“Still not awake yet, huh, buddy?”
I am awake! He wants to scream, I’m here, I’m right here, can’t you tell?

Summary
Rey isn’t sure that anyone really loves anyone else on Jakku. She isn’t sure it’s possible to let your guard down that far in a place that wants to swallow you up, scorch you, starve you. Love makes you soft, exposes the guttable parts of you. It wouldn’t be safe to love anyone. Nobody would be stupid enough.
Rey saves a life, meets her family, falls in love, grows up, and learns that she doesn't know anything at all. Not necessarily in that order.

Poe guesses he’s a little fucked-up now, more than before. He certainly has a lot of nightmares. He tries to take it in stride. It doesn’t really surprise him. What had he expected? (Dead, he thinks. You expected to be dead.)

He doesn’t mean to fall asleep. When does he ever, really? Riz wonders later if it would have made a difference in what happened, whether he fell asleep or not. He wonders what would have happened if he hadn’t woken up. But he does.
Riz wakes up as Fabian strikes the Hangman. It doesn't end well.
