Summary
Franky Doyle has a choice: maximum time in a minimum security prison... or the arena, a weekly competition in which prisoners, sponsored by the city's elite, try to kill each other for the entertainment of the public.
Bridget Westfall also has a choice: continue to ignore the arena's existence, marking it up as an unfortunate stain on her father's legacy, or sponsor one of the incoming prisoners, and in doing so help them survive.
Together, maybe they can break the chain.

Summary
“I fucking love you, Franky,” Bridget finished, “I’m not asking for a guarantee and I’m not asking for forever. I’m asking for now. Whatever time we get, I want to spend it with you.”
Franky’s chest tightened as each word struck her like bullets, tearing through every reason why they shouldn’t, every fear of watching Bridget leave the safety of her arms and never return, and every wall that she had kept in place to avoid being hurt ever again. She looked at Bridget- really looked at her. She saw the same stubborn hope in her eyes as always, the same smile that promised the world and all that she could give… Franky saw the way that she had done everything in her power to return to her.
Alive.

When Bridget, not-so-fresh off a heartbreak, is persuaded by her best friend, Vera, to finally give online dating a try, she expects to just mark it as a failure and carry on with her life. Neither of them are taking it seriously... until a late-night message turns into something unexpected and begs the question: will their online spark be enough to survive the real world?

Summary
“Do you ever wonder if… maybe… before this…”
Franky couldn’t finish but she didn’t have to. Bridget squeezed her hand gently, a reassurance that she knew what the question would be.
If we had met before the world had ended, would we have had a chance? Would this have been something more? Could it have been love?
