Lord Prince needs an Heir. He is growing old, and though he has seen much in his exceptionally long life, he has never been too worried about what will happen to his title. He had always assumed he would have children, they would graduate from Hogwarts, find themselves decent matches, and produce offspring for him to watch over. Never spoil, no. He was a proud man, and no self-respecting lord would gush over their grandchildren. No matter how cute they may be.

Severus has spent the last 13 years blaming himself for Lily and James' deaths. He should have listened to them when they tried to talk him out of joining Voldemort in an attempt to spy independently. He should have snapped the Rat's neck the first moment he saw him sitting at the table. He should have forced James to move after finding out their fidelius was compromised. He has been far too compliant, and he would rather rot in hell than continue to do so.

Summary
Twenty-three isn’t old—at least, not in the grand scheme of things. But by Lady Magic, it feels ancient. Severus has survived more than most: a charismatic narcissist, a war, years spying on that narcissist and his cult, and nearly constant torment from age eleven to seventeen. Now, he faces new dangers under the Ministry and Wizengamot’s relentless scrutiny. One wrong move could land him- or his magic -in Azkaban for life. His mother’s family refuses to take the hint, and, as if that’s not enough, there are the triplets he discovered stashed under his bed. Thankfully, Minerva and his mother seem to have childcare handled while Severus dashes about, barely holding it together.

The Silver Lady promised they’d be safe here, in this house heavy with sorrow and strained magic, but Harrison isn’t sure he believes it. Mione, ever perceptive, insists she can sense bad people, declaring, "they look wrong, scary." She assures him, this man is not scary. Ron says he feels safe. The place reminds him of candy floss and carries the Silver Lady’s scent. She’s never harmed them before.

Severus Tobias Snape has quite possibly, irreparably, and single-handedly destroyed his relationship with Lily Evans. He doesn't know how to fix it, and after months of trying to find the words, he has all but given up.

Lily Evans has never in her life been more hurt and angry with anyone like she is with Severus right now. It's been months! And he just stands there with his mouth open like a fish! Well, fine! She can take a hint! Clearly, he doesn't care, so why should she?

James Potter has spent the last month watching Lily lose her mind. She says everything's okay, but any time someone asks how her summer was, or how her friends are, she acts like she's going to kill them! He's tried his best to be there for her, but she just refuses to talk to him. There really is only one option left, and it will be a living nightmare. "Snivulis will take great pleasure in the fact that I am asking him for help."
