The truth is that Kakashi has no clue. He's been a shinobi since he can remember, held his first weapon before his baby teeth had even started falling out, learned the most basic of field signs before he even spoke or took his first steps. It's not easy, to imagine anything outside of this. Fanciful notions of what if's aren't a thing he's ever found healthy. Questions that flit through his head when he's too alone with his thoughts, reflecting upon every mistake he feels he's ever made or witnessed, every opportunity to do different, to do better, to be better. Every chance that something might not have ended the way it did. What if is a plague. Not a dream.

Summary
Red Hood’s modulated voice is bone-chilling. Nearly every sleaze-bag in Crime Alley had become accustomed to the gravely robotic nature of it. The unnatural shifts in his words and the variations in pitch being just ever so slightly off putting. Borderline uncanny, yet everyone who’s heard it knows there’s a human behind that voice. A man who choses to blow a hole through someone’s skull without so much of an afterthought.
Though, no one had ever heard that voice scream.
Not until tonight.
Or, Red Hood is captured, Nightwing saves him and while helping him afterwards, puts the wrong puzzle pieces together and confronts him which does not go quite how he planned.
