Everything started with a hug.
After that fight in Pacifica, V caught Viktor’s smile in the crowd—joyful, proud, just for him. A living memory of when he wasn’t just surviving, but still figuring life out at his own rhythm. And for Vik, the ice beneath his feet finally cracked. Life pushed forward, pulling him from the past and his stagnated loneliness—whether he wanted it or not.
This is a story about what comes after the end, and what we’re willing to do—and to endure—for love and freedom. Waking up broken, trying to rebuild a body, a purpose, to find a warm place in the sun.
I wrote this to fill the immense hole this game left in my chest—and to give my favorite broken dogs the ending they deserved.
(Post-canon, with some pre-Mikoshi setup. Slow burn. Hurt/comfort. Body horror. Plotted canon divergence. Expect grief, violence, complicated intimacy, and slow, painful healing. Welcome to the ride.)

Summary
Over the past two weeks, every time they've thought they finally hit rock bottom, here comes this prick with a fucking shovel. Maybe V could just lie down here and let themselves die. Maybe this is the best they'll get.
Johnny takes a drag of his cigarette, puffing smoke down at their face.
"You wouldn't be so kind as to save me the trouble."
The mere sound of his voice makes the pain substantially worse.
Their jaw clenches, and the fabric of their shirt saturates further with various hues of reds and pinks. V wishes desperately for a moment that Johnny were warm flesh and blood, with a healthy beating heart, so that they might place their hands on either side of his sternum and rip him open.

Summary

Vik is used to losing friends at his age and in this profession, but Jackie's loss hits him like a truck. When he can't help V when she needs it the most, he starts to question his life's choices.
