He's gotten taller, his shoulders broader, jawline more pronounced, but he was still the same Sawamura who called him with his full name most of the time, who smiled as brightly as the summer sun, whose eyes shined gold whenever he was on the mound.
I already am, Miyuki thinks as he steps into the batter's box with an excited grin. It's been years since he'd last seen Sawamura's pitches in the batter's box, and even longer as a catcher. His hands ache, that familiar itch of wanting to catch for Sawamura Eijun returns to him in full force.

A sudden hitch in his breathing caused Kazuya’s hand to slip, his nail digging roughly into his cuticle. A sharp sting flared, and he wouldn't have been surprised if he'd just drawn blood.
