Suletta’s face is on fire; she can feel it all the way down to her collarbone. Miorine takes in her appearance, wordless confusion evident on her face. Suletta takes a deep breath. She has to be more honest about what she wants— she’d decided it when she left Asticassia, and she’s getting better at it, but this is a hard ask.
Mostly because it feels so unromantic.
She wishes she could fidget with her fingers. But she also needs to look Miorine in the eyes, so she does. “Is it okay… if I kiss you?”
Suletta and Miorine navigate the physical aspect of their relationship.

Once there, however, she happens upon a familiar someone burning the midnight oil, who is only too happy to see her and offer a listening ear, or some words of comfort. With a lifetime of being closed off, ensconced in wiring and metal, can Eri actually navigate these new feelings evoked in her, ones that she’s never learned to express?
Post-Canon fic, meditating on mortality, isolation, and the things that bridge seemingly insurmountable distances.

Her back is to Prospera when she hears her speak again.
“Miorine Rembran. Did you mean what you said?”
She can make out Prospera’s reflection in the glass of the window. She’s angled just right so that she can see both her and Suletta, side by side. Miorine swallows and turns around.
“Yes.”
As Suletta lies comatose, Miorine reaches out to Prospera.

Summary
She had half expected that Suletta would abandon her upon moving in to Earth House. They all seem to have more in common with one another than she and Miorine do, despite the divide between Earthian and Spacian. She’s somewhat mystified that Suletta continues to come around at all.
But then again, she is Suletta Mercury— her groom, her Holder, her business partner. She’s obviously taking her role very seriously.
“You don’t have to wait around every time you come here. I told you you could come inside,” says Miorine when Suletta draws level with her. “It’s a standing invitation.”
Miorine Rembran has never allowed herself to be vulnerable before. Then Suletta Mercury becomes her new Holder.
