“Hm, this kinda calls for a more intimate shot, right?” Xiaoshi noted as he stared at Lu Guang through the viewfinder. “Maybe if we hugged, right? I'll turn the flash off, just let the moon illuminate us."
Just hug him back, then. He nodded again, a little excited for the shot. Xiaoshi pressed a button or two on his camera and then quickly ran back over towards the railing. He held his arms open. Lu Guang wrapped his arms around Xiaoshi, turned his head inwards and shut his eyes.
Ten seconds passed, and Xiaoshi let him go again, running back towards the camera to check the picture. “Ahguang, come look, what do you think?”
Lu Guang stared at the screen. ‘Intimate’ was probably a good word to describe it. Was this really the sort of photo Xiaoshi would want to mark the start of their friendship?
[Lu Guang's been nonverbal for the past eighteen years of his life. He's used to relying on his parents for everything, but desperately wants for independence. After he meets Cheng Xiaoshi by chance and they become friends, he wonders if he can be his ticket to escaping]
