Shinji Ikari esta obsesionado con Asuka Langley Shikinami, quien aveces suele espiarlo y observarlo sin que el se de cuenta. Shinji es demasiado curioso e ingenuo y Asuka es todo un misterio para el. Un misterio que al descubrirlo, deseara no haber sabido la verdad. Puesto a que Asuka no es quien el creía que era, mas bien es demasiado sanguinaria y cruel, ademas de ser un angel de la muerte.
