Summary
Jungkook forced his body back up with a pained hiss after a few seconds. He looked at the prince, eyes wide with a mix of curiosity and fear.
Prince Taehyung was regarding him as if he was trying to solve a puzzle. “Do you expect me to believe,” he started, his steady baritone voice ringing in Jungkook’s temples, “that a commoner tended to an injured dragon and lived to tell the tale?”
“I–” Jungkook stammered, lost for words for the first time since he’d been tossed on the ground. He blinked and tried to shake himself out of it. “Um, Your Highness,” he finally managed, copying Lord Namjoon’s way of addressing the prince, the words feeling awkward on his tongue. “I told her I wasn’t going to hurt her, an’ she let me help.”
The prince huffed, looking at the state of the sailor before him. “You talked to my dragon.”
“She’s a smart girl!” Jungkook defended, the defiant fire coming back to his eyes.

Two completely incompatible systems forced into orbit. Two routines running in parallel, never quite touching but constantly colliding in the most irritating ways possible.
