Lando has always found comfort in listening to Max yap away; or "Maxplain" as the fans love to call it, about everything under the sun that the man is passionate in. He feels somewhat at home again, as last year’s season without having this off the track has had him feeling displaced. He didn’t like being given the cold shoulder by Max Verstappen. He’s missed this.
“Max.. I missed hanging out like this.. like we used to,” he blurted.
He was met with silence on the other end. He heard a shuffle, then a sigh so soft he almost missed it.
“Yeah.. I missed this too, mate.”
“It’s been awhile, huh.”
A beat.
“Do you… do you maybe wanna come over?” he heard Max ask in a hopeful voice, before continuing with, “we can play some FIFA or something.”
And that is how Lando Norris finds himself at Max Verstappen’s doorstep, a bottle of his finest wine in hand as a peace offering.
