How does a young Mormon missionary shirk his people and his faith, to become the right-hand man of Caesar? What sort of events would trigger such a downward spiral?
This is not a story about the Malpais Legate. This is not a story about the Burned Man. This is the story of Joshua Graham, and his life before that fateful mistranslation. Who was he? Who were his family? Did he have friends? Did he have hopes and dreams? What could have possibly happened to him to justify his future?

When Kotallo lost his arm, it was more than just a limb that he had lost. It was his prowess with a bow. It was his utility as a Marshal. His arm was gone, his life a ruin, and nothing would ever be the same.
It did not occur to him that this could be a good thing.
It did not occur to him that he could find new purpose in his life. It did not occur to him that an outlander with hair like blood and a spirit as fierce as blazefire would help him find that purpose.
With Aloy as his witness, Kotallo would find himself again, and nothing would ever be the same.

In other words: a wish fulfillment fic where Aloy and Kotallo fall in love over the course of the game. Canon scenes and dialogue blended and padded out with introspection, cozy conversations, smut, and all the GAIA Gang bonding that we deserved. ❤Series
