Summary
They’ve seen apartment fires before — everything from small, toaster fires, to blazes that tear through multiple apartments — but this one is different.
The first has already taken over the top two floors, moving rapidly from window to window, soot scorching the exterior of the building. Buck watches the heatwaves ripple through the air, emanating from the flames still taking part in their mocking dance as they tear the building apart brick by brick. The smell of melted plastic hangs in the air.
This is the fire they all dread.
The self-proclaimed Big One.

Darkness crept further into his vision. “I’m…s-sorry.”
Buck let out a quiet sob. “You should’ve just talked to me! Open your damn eyes, Eddie!”
Eddie forced his eyes open. “I still–” he swallowed hard, the taste of iron flooding his mouth. “I love you.”
“No. No, you don’t get to do this now,” Buck said through gritted teeth. “Not like this.”
“Had to tell you…b-before I—”
“No! Damn it, Eddie! No!” Buck crawled onto his knees. He cupped Eddie’s face, his hands shaking. “You have to hang on, okay? You can’t leave me again, not like this!”
OR: Eddie breaks up with Buck, thinking he's not good enough for him. A few days later, there's an accident.

Rocky, please. I’m trying to spare you right now.
Basically, Grace gets exposed to a dangerous amount of radiation during an EVA and doesn't want to tell Rocky bc of what happened to Rocky's crew <3
THIS IS A REWORKED VERSION OF "TEMPEST" - after some comments, I wanted to keep the soul of the story, but make it more scientifically plausible. While there are still probably some inaccuracies, I still hope this isn't as messy as before.
