Summary
“Penumbra (n.) — a part of a shadow where the light is not wholly gone, used especially of the half-shadow cast during an eclipse.”
Evil does not reproduce; it perfects itself. And the Lord does not halt wheels that men themselves insist on turning.
Some would argue whether Henry pushed or István leapt. But they should note, perhaps, that God kept His silence as ever.
࿇
This work is a large-scale István Tóth bildungsroman covering 1372–1403 and is intended as a hypothetical prequel to his main KCD narrative.

Summary
The wind drops, suddenly, and the swirls of billowing snow settle between them slowly. Arthur squints as the figure becomes more defined, familiar but… not.
Wrong.
John Marston stands at the top of the crest of the mountain covered in snow and blood. There’s a dead wolf pelt with the head still attached wrapped around his neck and shoulders and he drags two more by the tail behind him. Four violent gashes cut through his cheek and up over his nose.
It’s hard to tell how much of the blood is his and how much is from the wolves.
“The hell, Marston?! You kill those with your bare hands?” Javier demands, looking shocked.
John makes a face that might be intended to be a grin but it’s all teeth. It makes the cuts on his face weep and Arthur feels himself wince in sympathy. Those must be painful.
“I had a knife.”
Or
John closes his eyes on Beechers Hope and opens them to teeth at his throat.

Summary
The love of Astarion's life has disappeared to go live in the daylight with the druids, and Astarion is stuck in the darkness once more, yearning for sunlight with every fibre of his being, while bitterly reflecting on all the things that were denied to him in the end - love, sunlight, the option to kill thousands of people and become a near-god...
Raphael knows Astarion's desperate, and comes to him with not one, but two horrid contract offers that Astarion loathes and dreads in equal measure - but the prize at the end of both are too good to turn down, and he's become too cynical to care about how much of a good idea it is to give his body to a devil for a month or two, because really, comparatively, how bad could it be?

Summary
Viktor had spoken to what was left of Jayce so many times. To gloat, at first, though that was short-lived. Then in anger, in grief. All those things he had eschewed for this ultimate power, for doing what he thought he must. He’d wanted to save everyone… to remove them from the cycle of pain. What that required, of course, was to remove them from the cycle of life.
What was left? A hollow, lonely god.

Mage!Viktor tries again. And again. And again.
