    Summary

The fire is still growing. The beams are groaning. Time is running out.
    Eddie’s heart clenches.
“They’re not coming, Buck. You need to go.”
Not because he wants to let go. But because he can’t bear the thought of Buck dying here too.
He’s already risking everything by staying.
And Eddie—Eddie doesn’t want the last thing he sees to be Buck falling beside him.
“NO.” Buck snaps. “I told you. We’re surviving this together.”
He starts yelling, voice ripping through the air.
“HELP!” He coughs. “Bobby! Hen! HELP!!”
The desperation in Buck’s voice slices through Eddie’s chest more than the crushing weight above him ever could. He wants to stop him, to tell him not to waste his breath, but he can’t. Because some part of him—some foolish, aching part—still hopes too.

    -or-

One call changes everything. After nearly losing each other, Buck and Eddie are forced to face the feelings they’ve spent years burying. But grief, guilt, and fear don’t make falling in love any easier. It’s messy. It’s slow. And it might already be too late.

    Summary

“I just feel…” Eddie starts, and then he’s shaking his head and blowing out a stiff breath, rubbing at his brow. “I don’t know, man. I need to get out of my head. It’s not a good place to be right now.”

Buck hums. Lightheartedly, he says, “I could always spank you again.”

Eddie chokes on his water where he was mid-sip, snorting and coughing around his own laughter. “Yeah, absolutely,” he says sarcastically, shoving at Buck playfully. “It worked so well last time.”

Their eyes meet, and a wave of energy shocks its way through Buck’s body. Not like a lightning strike; more like an electric fence, pulsing through his fingertips and dissipating in his chest, fizzling out into his ribcage.

“Well, it kinda did,” Buck croaks, throat aching and dry again already.

    Summary

“What do you mean I'm me? I'm not like that anymore, you know? It doesn't matter how pent up I am, I don't just sleep around with people I don't care anymore.” Buck protested, sounding a little bit offended.

“Buck, I meant that you're hot, not that you're a whore. Which also, wouldn't be a problem.” He said, a little crooked smile on his lips. “Sorry for bringing it up, I didn't know you were pent up. I wish I could help.” Eddie knew exactly what he was doing, saying the same thing Buck told him when he was the one pent up, and he knew Buck would pick up on that.

He could feel Buck's eyes piercing holes on his side, so he turned his head towards him. “What?”

    Summary

The thing is, now that he’s accepted being romantically inclined towards Buck, he’s pretty sure he sees Buck’s reciprocated feelings everywhere. It feels more like a matter of when rather than if. Like Buck’s a sure thing.

On the evening of Buck’s speed dating event, he comes out of their bedroom asking for help picking between two jackets, and Eddie simply says, “you don’t need to go to that.”

“Huh?” Buck’s eyebrows shoot up, framed by that blushed red birthmark.

Eddie shrugs, leaning back on the couch and kicking his feet up. “Go waste time if you want, but you really don’t need to.”

Eddie is possessive of Buck, but he doesn't get jealous. Why would he? Buck's always been his.

    Summary

Eddie Diaz is not superstitious, but he is deeply annoyed by Tommy and extremely fond of Buck. What starts as a harmless joke involving a single Etsy spell spirals into candles, jars, and increasingly specific acts of cosmic inconvenience. Somewhere between accidental witchcraft and emotional overinvestment, Eddie realizes this was never just about hexing Tommy—it was about how much he cares about Buck.

    OR:
Eddie buys an Etsy witch to hex Tommy. This turns out to be the least complicated part of the situation.
