How could this have happened? The events to get to this point didn’t add up. Beau was genuinely confused. And annoyed. All he wanted was to make sure that his mother, Madeline, was ok and not collapsed in the forest somewhere. And now he somehow managed to get himself locked in a cell with said mother in the most depressing and dingy castle he’d ever seen. Not that he’d seen any other castles but he didn’t think it was supposed to look or feel like this. Not to mention the talking decorations and objects.
