That’s when it occurs to him that Elias has failed to ask him where he lives. He wouldn’t put it past him to know all of their addresses by heart, but they aren’t anywhere near Martin’s neighborhood. In fact—he has no idea where they are. He tries to hide his fear, but he’s no good at concealing his emotions at the best of times. His breathing elevates and his hands shake.
"Relax, Martin. If I wanted you dead, I would have killed you at the Institute."

This whole spectacle might have started out with other intentions, but as the sickly tendrils of Elias’s own envy wraps tighter and tighter around him, as they snake their way up his calves and thighs and across his chest, nailing him to his chair, corrupting said scene and feeding his pathetically racing heart; Elias finds himself unable to stop. Not that he wants to, not at all. Because for some reason this seems like a fitting punishment for stealing what he wants, for taking the attention, the acknowledgement he deserves. Him alone.
