The golden star was getting awfully closer. And bigger. It really was pretty, Phainon thought, still staring right at it. His eyes burned but he kept looking anyways.
…Was it supposed to be coming directly towards him?
Too late. The sky lit up a brilliant gold and Phainon ducked his head, yelping. A loud boom! echoed through the forest and the ground shock heavily. The birds cawed angrily, and a hoard of wildlife came running away from the direction where the star fell.
"What the fuck," Phainon whispered. "That was so cool."
A voice that sounded suspiciously like Cyrene cried out, Don't go looking towards the direction of the loud and scary noise!
Another voice that sounded like Phainon himself said, Wow! Let's go looking for that star!
Phainon went looking for the star.
Or: Mydei is the star that crash lands onto Aedes Elysiae. He is rescued by a boy named Phainon.

Phainon’s lips quirk up ruefully.
“It was exhilarating as always. None of your sets ever gets old.”
“And me?” he asks curiously. His hands clench into fists. “What does it look like while I’m on the stage?”
The smile fades. Phainon bites his lips. His knuckles are white where they grip the yoke.
“You look untouchable when you’re on the stage,” he says, the words resigned and sad. “Like a force of nature.”
(It takes Mydei and Phainon eight plane rides to make their way home.)
