Summary
It started one afternoon, when Izzy saw Magnus and Alec talking at the training area at the institute. Out of nowhere, Alec gave Magnus a blinding smile, the ones Jace and Izzy would only get once every two years. And Magnus, poor, beautiful warlock that he was, did not know how to react. Alec had a big goofy smile on his face and Magnus apparently could do nothing but stare back.
Izzy immediately went to find Jace. That was when the tally chart appeared.

“What?” Magnus frowned.
“Jace and Raj were making some stupid bet about who had more game and they said I didn’t have any. Well, Raj said it and Jace and Simon didn’t deny it, so that’s basically the same thing.”
Or, the one where Raj makes a comment about Alec having no game because he's only ever been with one person and Alec shuts him up in the sassiest way while Magnus cheers him on.

Summary
Alec couldn’t remember the last time he’d felt so natural talking to someone—usually, he stuttered and had to scramble for things to say. With Magnus, it felt like they would never run out of things to talk about. The only hiccup was when the topic of careers came up; when Alec explained in detail how he worked as an editor, Magnus simply said he worked in fashion and demurred quickly. Alec didn’t push; he could imagine "I was a reality TV star" was a topic you would want to avoid on a first date.
AKA irreverent Christmas fluff in which Magnus Bane is a name everyone recognizes except Alec.

Summary
What did Adam have that he didn’t? He always listened to Magnus’ stories and asked questions, interested to hear more. Both insecurity and anger crawled up Alec’s spine, a sensation he wasn’t unfamiliar with. The memory of Jace and Clary kissing in the middle of the institute came to mind and he shook it away.
This wasn’t the same. This was Magnus.
