Summary
Cor's assignment to Niflheim was to escort a Crownsguard spy and defecting scientist back to Lucis. He couldn't have expected the addition of the child they stole from the facility, one of many born in the labs to become an MT. He also couldn't have expected to care about what happened to that child once they reached the safety of Insomnia.
It was chance that took the child from the fate he was created for. And it was chance that brought him back into Cor's life years later. Cor wasn't one to get attached, but he couldn't help but root for the boy who's fate he helped change.

Noctis kicked his chair leg. “Maybe I like that you don’t fit in. If you’re worried about the correct etiquette and stuff, we can teach you, but no one’s going to banish you for using the wrong fork.”
Prompto laughed. “Dude, don’t underestimate how bad I could mess this up.”
For the first time, Noctis was allowed to invite Prompto to attend one of the Citadel's biggest events. Despite being completely unprepared, Prompto agrees to go, if only for the chance to spend an evening with Noctis. There's a few problems though. One, he has nothing to wear. Two, he has no idea how to act in such a formal setting. Three...he was hopelessly in love with Noctis.
