Summary
The line you were in at the mall with your eleven-year-old brother stretched for a mile. He wore a Homelander teeshirt and held a Homelander action figure like many of the other boys in the line. It took four and a half hours to make it to the famed superhero. A blue tablecloth covered the foldable table with a stack of heroic headshots on top of it. He quickly signed one autograph after another with a permanent marker like a machine. When he met your gaze, his tight-lipped smile widened. It was the female fans he paid attention to, especially the pretty ones. You wouldn’t call yourself a fan— far from it.
