Pretty wasn't a word NuNew associated with himself very often. He knew he had pleasant features and had never considered himself ugly, but he sometimes didn't understand how people could throw so many compliments in his direction. He was good looking but not worship worthy. Zee had been one of the first to call him pretty, gorgeous, and beautiful—and NuNew could vividly remember how each compliment had made his cheeks light on fire and his insides melt. He got used to it eventually (not really, but whatever) but still occasionally questioned whether it was true.
This, however, made NuNew feel…powerful.

Nunew was the captain of the softball team. He was supposed to be the pillar of the team, to be the strongest one out of everyone. But yet here he was, in the doctor's office on campus. He should had really get his act together and learn to stop being so clumsy after this ordeal. But Dr. Panich here had a way with words and with Nunew.
The first time was a total coincidence. The second, quite a mishap. The third, was not really. By the fourth time, Nunew was not just back for medical attention.
