Summary
Nick Nelson is a single father to a sweet, sensitive 8 year boy named Noah. During their Summer holiday, Nick decides that Noah needs a change of scenery after a rough school year and books them a vacation home near the beach.
Charlie Spring is also a single father to a feisty little 9 year old girl named Ruby. Charlie and Ruby have been planning their Summer getaway to the beach for months and they're excited for a month of beaches and bonding.
It certainly would be unfortunate if some crazy mix up happened with the rental reservations...

Summary
When Charlie Spring's dad gets relocated for work, Charlie and his siblings are forced to leave behind their lives in New York City and start over in a tiny town in South Carolina.
Charlie hates it.
He hates the heat, the smell, the lack of public transportation, the casual homophobia, and the fact that half the town seems emotionally invested in high school football.
Then he meets Nick Nelson.
Nick is a farm boy, a quarterback, and annoyingly nice. He's also funny, patient, ridiculously attractive, and somehow determined to drag Charlie through every small-town summer tradition imaginable.

“Can I help you?” The man shoved past him, not even the slightest bit put off by the biosteel onesie in red and gold. He unlocked the purple door with a wave of his hand (that’s not right, Arthur’s brain insisted) and shoved it open.
“Sorry, I just…” All the words he wanted to say died somewhere between his brain and his mouth. Everything felt wrong but his heart eased up for the first time since he woke up in the middle of what he assumed was a park with a head injury and no memories. He pulled in a deep breath, set his shoulders, and tried again. “I think I belong to you.”
There was a tense moment where neither man breathed.

Charlie Spring is fighting in Egypt in World War II, just trying to survive and not have his sexuality discovered when a handsome Chef shows up and the rules he had put in place start to break down.
What happens when you find love, somewhere devoid of hope and can that love survive when fate contrives against it?
I wasn't sure I was going to tag this as a happy ending because I wanted to keep you guessing but then I remembered I probably wouldn't read it without that tag so rest assured the love can survive....
