Summary
Hoseok hadn’t chosen figure skating, figure skating had chosen him. At least that’s what he told people he met at parties. The born-for-this narrative was an easy out whenever he was asked how he’d ended up where he was. For a long time, he had even believed it himself. When I put skates on for the first time, I swear there was a beam of enlightenment behind me, anime type shit.
He once loved telling his skater origin story, each time adding a new heroic flourish to it. Because others used to love listening to it, yes, but mostly because Yoongi despised it — and what a hero needed first and foremost was an arch nemesis. His sarcastic gaze meant more to Hoseok than all the admiration in the world.
