Summary
It's Kaveh's senior year before choosing his Darshan and with his mother in Fontaine and his boyfriend dead, Kaveh struggles to make it through the year, even resorting to making out with a popular kid whose friends all bully Kaveh. Alhaitham had switched from being homeschooled to going to the Akademiya and can't seem to get away from the school's queer kid.
The relationships are inspired by We Are The Ants by Shaun David Hutchinson. Please read some of his books if you haven't. He is my favorite Author.

“I’m bound to you until I find you love,” Venti corrects.
“Yeah, so you aren’t leaving.”
“Wrong! I have a hot streak of success.” Venti claps his hands, the contract scrolling back up into non-existence. “Now that you understand, shall we start over? My name’s Venti, and I’m your assigned Cupid. Your wingman, if you will.”
“... Xiao.”
Or: Xiao is, maybe, a little in love with his Cupid. Venti does not catch on.

Xiao looks at him, startled. It takes a moment before something like sullen understanding crosses his face. It’s resigned in a way Venti never is. “Sorry. You should get earplugs. I can’t control it.”
Venti is no good with sadness. It sits in him like a dead weight. He does whatever he can to push it out. "I don’t think those will really help,” Venti says with a laugh.
“The roommate swap is next week. I wouldn’t hold it against you if you left. My roommate last year did the same thing.”
Oh, shit.
Now he can’t leave.
