    Summary

"I would never be mad at you for this," Bruce tells him clearly, leaving no room for misunderstanding, blue eyes sharp and clear as they meet Jason's steadily, "I think you know this Jason, deep down. You know I would never blame you for any of this."

    Jason's heart is tight, "I'm —"

Bruce places both hands on his shoulders, "Don't apologise. Just breathe with me."

Jason takes a deep breath in, matching Bruce's unshakeable calmness. It's the first time in a long time that Jason feels like he can actually breathe.

(Jason survives Ethiopia and returns home; this is the beginning.)

    Summary

"Well, I find myself distractingly single these days, maybe I'll start dating again. You wouldn't happen to be in the market for a billionaire father of… I forget, is it six or nine? I seem to have picked up some strays over the years." He winked exaggeratedly and internally steeled himself for the expected ritual of rejection.

Except it didn't come. Lois hummed thoughtfully as she reached across the table and flicked off her recorder. "I don't know, Bruce. Are you in the market for two overworked investigative reporters that sometimes disappear for weeks on end? Could you handle the Kent-Lane package deal? Since you can't seem to remember how many children you have…perhaps you might forget your partners as well…"

Bruce, who normally had iron-clad control over his face, felt his mouth drop open.

Lois grinned at him, sharp and bright. "I'm calling your bluff, Mr. Wayne. Both of us or no deal."

Lois, Clark, and Bruce finally get their act together. Their kids have mixed reactions (mostly positive... and exasperated.)

    Summary

Bruce skidded to a halt, breath hissing through his teeth.

Superman’s head came up sharply, like the sound of Bruce’s shock still meant something to him—and it was Clark, but he was different. Different lines on his face, a subtly different curl to his hair, and as he looked Bruce up and down his eyes blew wide.

Bruce’s hand dropped immediately to his belt, a chill sweeping through him. “Not our Kal.”
    --
Bruce and Clark have been in a relationship since the founding of the Justice League almost twenty years ago. When the League tries to bring in a thief with stolen reality-shifting technology, Clark is accidentally exchanged with his counterpart from a universe that's almost identical—except he's married to Lois. And they have a son.

As each side scrambles to swap their Clarks back, Bruce and Clark find themselves grappling with new questions about their life together, faced with the possibility of things having gone differently for not just the two of them, but their children—the ones they have, and the one they've never met. Along the way, they do their best not to to blow up their counterparts' lives by dredging up any long-buried feelings. (They may or may not succeed at that last.)

anthropomorphism: the attribution of human characteristics or behavior to a god, animal, or object.

    Like dogs. Or bats.

“Do you have…” he trailed off, searching for the words. His voice was just as low and gravelly as she would have imagined, but surprisingly gentle. She got the impression, however, that his voice changed on a case by case basis.

“Those cups of whipped cream,” he continued.

She gawked. At the situation, at his request. He seemed to take that as her not understanding.

    “For dogs,” he added helpfully.
