Summary
Ten years have passed since the war. Katara has spent them in near-total, self-imposed isolation on Crescent Island in an attempt to bury the memories of what she endured. Content to be forgotten while the rest of the Gaang rebuilds the world, she has chosen distance from everything she once thought she wanted.║After an assassination attempt leaves Fire Lord Zuko wounded and results in the death of his uncle, he goes to the one place he’d sworn never to return to: her. Reckless with grief and anger, an unravelling Zuko asks Katara to become the Southern Water Tribe’s ambassador in the Imperial City. Faced with the threat of another war breaking out, she has no other choice but to agree. But the longer she remains at court, the more she realises something is deeply wrong. Conspiracies are brewing beneath the surface, stretching across all four nations.║Zuko is not the boy she remembers, but there is something of him in the man she meets now for the first time. He is as obsessive and vengeful as a dragon, hardened by pain and betrayal. And despite everything she knows, despite every reason she gives herself to stay distant, to keep herself and her heart safe, she finds herself drawn back to him anyway. Like a moth to flame.

Summary
Left behind at the Misty Palms Oasis, Katara waits days for Aang, Sokka, and Toph to return. But when bounty hunters close in, her only chance at escape comes from the last people she ever thought she could trust: Zuko and Iroh. Now traveling under false names and bound by a fake marriage, Katara finds herself on the road to Ba Sing Se. At first, she barely trusts him, but somewhere along the way, she starts to realize Zuko isn't what she thought he was.
She keeps reminding herself it will end once they reach the city, but in a place crowded with millions of refugees and stuck in the Lower Ring, she doesn’t have much hope of finding her friends. With no leads and nowhere else to go, she resolves to wait for them to find her. But in their cramped apartment, the days turn into weeks, and the longer they stay, the harder it becomes to remember where the act ends and something real begins.

Summary
After the war, Katara loses herself in the rhythms of tribal life. In the South Pole the moon is sovereign. Deep in the ice and snow, and in the heart of her element, it is easy to forget that there is a land of fire, smoke and ash- the kingdom of sun and dragons. Her journey with the Avatar slips into memory: a strange past life, shadowy and ephemeral.
But some things do not stay consigned to twilight, nor to history.
She is 20 years old when she sees him again.
