Summary
After many years, Mordred is back in Camelot. Instead of being hunted, he's serving as one of King Arthur's knights. Mordred will do anything to keep Arthur safe. That's why he's horrified when he overhears a conversation between Merlin and Gaius. Merlin's destiny is to protect Arthur. Meanwhile, Mordred's is to kill him. While he finally understands why Merlin hates him, he can't fathom why he would ever betray Arthur. It has to be a mistake, but it isn't. So, when he's critically wounded by the Disir, he uses the opportunity to fake his death and run away.
