One day, you began to see ghosts. You thought ignoring them would be the best course of action, but how can you do that when 'Geto Suguru', a character that's not supposed to exist in your world, suddenly came to your job and evaporated the ‘ghosts’ surrounding you?
It didn't just stop there. You began meeting the others, who stuck close to you just like these ghosts did, and now you are torn between wanting nothing from this world and being beside these characters that you identified from the start.
Out of all the series to be in, you just had to be in the world where everything feels normal even if the world is close to ending.

Summary
When you were twenty-three, you fell ill.
It began as a small fever, then a sweltering one. You couldn’t stomach any food or water, gagging even at the sight of it like an irrational fear. They’d suspected rabies, but then welts began to grow and fester over your skin and pop, overflowing with pus and blood. You began having hallucinations and hysterical outbursts of fear and anger.
The hospital tried everything. You were locked in quarantine and studied like a lab rat. Test after test gave no further clues, no hint as to what sort of disease had caused this. Even the government had become involved to ensure word did not spread and cause hysteria amongst the common masses.
When you were twenty-three, you died.

Summary
The two look at each other in confusion. That is the cursed object. Or rather, was. They succeeded at locating the object, but returning it to their professor in that condition? That would be a tough ask. A failed mission… that's what it was. They stood dumbfounded at some pieces of pottery. It was long gone, crushed, fragmented, smashed to pieces. Someone had come in earlier and broke the urn they had to retrieve.
“What do we even tell Yaga!? Wait– you felt there was someone else and didn't care to tell me!?”
“Eh, no biggie. Besides…” He pauses, “It's not like that fragile tupperware was important” Another pause, “OH– AND, I didn't feel anyone's presence, I simply said it matched outside’s energy.”
“You seriously didn't listen to Yaga, did you? It had to be retrieved at all costs. Intact.” Geto facepalms.
This is a story where a curse falls in love with someone that can manipulate them: cult leader!geto x curse! reader, but a lot of backstory is provided too! (updates every Wednesday!)
