    Summary

Spock has made a grievous error. He has rebuffed and rebuked Jim’s friendship—worse, his very nature—at every turn since Jim’s ascendancy to captain of the Enterprise. And now that Jim has withdrawn, now that Jim has given up, Spock has finally realized the value of what was being offered.

    Summary

“We were wrong about the pollen from Cetus II not affecting him,” Bones says in an undertone. “He didn’t get his senses tangled up like the others, though. It targeted his psionic abilities.”

or, Spock's telepathy gets screwed up on an away mission. Laying hands on his crewmates to train his senses back to normal is the only cure. Jim is happy to help—even if there are some feelings he'd rather keep to himself.

“Let me help you,” Jim said.

It was as though a lightning bolt had struck Spock’s face and frozen it in horror. “Captain? What—?”

Jim swallowed. Stood straighter. “Let me be your… mate.”

    Summary

Spock wasn’t entirely certain when he crossed the point of no return, but he did recognize, with absolute clarity, the horrifying moment it was too late—

when the mating bond snapped into place.

Two hearts, suddenly beating in unison. With each pump of blood, red and green alike, he felt this new, inescapable truth reverberate between them.

    They were one.

Essentially an All Our Yesterdays rewrite, but make it dark and make it Spirk.

    Summary

A few months after their bonding, Spock requests leave to attend a mid-winter ceremony on Vulcan. Kirk didn’t even know there WAS a mid-winter ceremony on Vulcan, and he finds himself wondering why his bondmate has had a sudden attack of nostalgia. It could be a long vacation…

Written for the KS Advent 2012. Massive thanks to T’Lara for her thorough and incredibly helpful beta-job (given the length of this fic, that goes above and beyond the call of duty) and for all her advice on Vulcan grammar and sentence construction. I’m pretty sure there is nothing that this woman isn’t good at! For those whose browser or device supports it, a translation from Vulcan to English is available by hovering the mouse pointer over the sentence in question, but if not there’s a translation at the end, there's a link to download it in the body of the story itself (because I just don't know how to put a link in this text).
