Summary
After losing the battle on the Fold, Alina Starkov is taken captive by the Darkling. Brought back to Os Alta, she is given a choice: watch as everyone she loves and cares for is executed as the Darkling goes takes over Ravka, or marry him as a political alliance between opposing sides of the revolution. She must find a way to help her friends and bring down the Darkling's reign of terror, but will she accept her fate? Will their opposite sides attract and compliment each other, or will it end in flames for them and the country?
