    Summary

To say Astarion disliked Raen from the start would be simply untrue.

Truth be told, after settling the whole nautiloid matter by knife point and sharing a smattering of memories via tadpole, Astarion quite liked the prospect of traveling with the man. After explaining their ocular predicament, the Drow had extended an invitation to join his party right there on the beach.

And the Pale Elf had been mildly ecstatic.

    ___

Raen is a Drow, and Astarion reads the book by the cover at first glance. He finds out quickly that he is very wrong about most everything concerning Raen.

The Paladin ~might~ have a few more secrets than he does, though.

    ___

A retelling for my caked-up paladin/bard Drow who is taller than everyone in the party. He needs to be that big to hold all the love he has for all his companions, along with big strong arms to hug Astarion with. He's a sweet man and he's never done anything wrong and I love him with all my heart. Astarion deserves a very good hero man so here he is.
Aka; Astarion once said he was waiting for a hero. Raen showed up a little later than expected but he's here, damnit.

    Summary

He’s looking for her. The eight-year-old girl. His sister.

The woman in the pearl gown has Miri’s nose. Miri’s freckles, a dusting of brown spots across her cheeks and bare shoulders. Miri’s bow lips.

But it’s not her. How can it be her? Miri’s head barely clears his elbow. She doesn’t wear color on her lips or jewels in her plaited hair. She wears plain frocks, perpetually stained at the hem no matter how many times Tav scrubs them clean.

He can’t breathe. He can’t do this. Can’t kill that girl in his memory and replace her.

Tav and his friends race to catch a serial killer. Mid Act 3. Astarion x m!Tav.

    Summary

    “Raphael.”

The room in the Caress rushes back and he pins Raphael to the wall by his throat. It’s too easy. It shouldn’t be this easy—a part of Tav knows, deep down, that he isn’t really strong enough to kill Raphael on his own. No matter how much he wants to.

And Raphael doesn’t choke, doesn’t gasp for air. He just smiles as if Tav's fingers aren't clenched around his windpipe and says, “Now that the preliminaries are out of the way, we can get to business.”

In Sharess’s Caress, Tav finds himself torn between the past and the future. Early Act 3. Astarion x m!Tav.

    Summary

“We’re not going to be friends,” Tav says through gritted teeth. “But sure. Let’s tour the room. Why not?”

He’s never felt such malice radiating from Astarion’s direction before. If a stare could melt flesh and bone, Gortash would be a puddle of gore on the throne room floor. But Astarion doesn’t move, and neither does anyone else as Tav lets Gortash lead him away.

It’s all a game. Tav can tell that much. He’ll play it as long as he needs to, stomach whatever he has to, if it means everyone in this room will get out alive.

Tav has an unexpected run-in with a figure from his past. Early Act 3. Astarion x m!Tav.

    Summary

For a split second, the illusion blurs and Tav's back in the circus. Laughter. A burst of flute music. Astarion’s face, much closer, his gaze unfocused. Close enough to touch.

“A suit of armor conceals scars of the flesh, but not of the soul.”

The dryad’s voice is smooth, a silken thread that weaves the illusion back together. Tav blinks and he’s in the forest again, fully in her thrall, just in time to hear her next question.

    “What is his greatest shame?”

In the familiar environs of Rivington, Tav confronts harsh realities about Astarion and their relationship. Early Act 3. Astarion x m!Tav.
