When Mitsuba looked back at Kou's face, really looked at it, Kou had stars in his eyes.
It was ridiculous enough to snap Mitsuba out of his breakdown. “Did you hear anything I just said!”
“I matter that much to you.”
Or: Mitsuba desperately wants to stop Kou from becoming his yorishiro, unfortunately Kou is all too eager to become it.

Kou likes that he can understand Mitsuba more now. He knows what being supernatural is like now, he's around Mitsuba all the time and can read him so much better, it's nice. Kou spent so long desperately wanting to understand Mitsuba, he's so glad he finally has that chance.
Walking around town as a supernatural is odd. No one can see him, he could run down the street screaming and not a soul would bat an eye. It's unsettling, and it makes him want to go home. He bumps into someone and goes right through them, he shudders and decides on getting a heart quickly and going home.
