Woody decides to take in Freddy (Forky), a deeply troubled and broken kid who finds no value in life anymore. In an effort to reignite the will to live Freddy lost long ago, Woody tries his hardest to connect with him much to the kid’s protests.
It all culminates in a road trip that goes awry when Freddy runs away again. Determined to prove he isn’t going to give up on him, Woody goes looking for him all the while trying to get Freddy to open up to him.

‘Home.’
When he heard that word, he couldn’t even picture Andy’s room anymore, nor could he picture that entire house. What he could picture was the old, dark night that would take over SunnySide every time the sun set, casting large shadows through the Butterfly Room, and only way to see being the deep orange glow of an overhead light outside. He also pictured the ceiling of a children’s indoor playhouse above him, a cushion beneath, and the overwhelming feeling of guilt in his chest. He also pictured himself in the arms of the man that put him call this home in the first place.
That was home. Despite the emptiness, the shame, and fear, it was still the place he’d come to find himself calling home anyway.
He wanted to go home.

At some point, the line between relaxed and loose blurred.
Mario was leaning back in his chair now, one arm slung over the backrest, whatever tension that existed from the day worn down into something softer and less guarded. His words came a fraction slower and just a touch heavier.
Fox, for his part, wasn’t much different. Still composed but his insufferably smug smirks came easier.
“You know,” Mario said, gesturing vaguely with his glass, “you talk a lot about assessment for a guy who boasts about flying directly into laser fire.”
Fox snorted. “It’s calculated laser fire.”
