Sasuke doesn’t smell like anything, and he prefers it that way. Being a beta means he doesn't need to buy scent patches or spend money on suppressants. He can be in full control of himself 100% of the time. He doesn't need to endure any hormonal cycles. And, most importantly, he's automatically removed from the drama surrounding alphas and omegas.
It's easy. It's the best.

He could keep walking. One step, then another. And another. Until his feet no longer touched the ocean floor. Until the sea swallowed him whole. Until his body disappeared beneath the waves and sank under the weight of everything he had done.
The thought lingered, tempting.
But when Sasuke tried to imagine taking that final step, he found he couldn’t. Not because he was afraid, or because he thought he deserved to live. But because he made a promise, and for the first time in a very long time, Sasuke intended to keep it.
He promised Naruto he’d come back, so he turned around and walked back towards the shore.
Or, it doesn't matter how hard Naruto tries, or how much Sasuke wants him to be, Naruto is not the cure. Sasuke needs to learn how to heal by himself.
