But for now, Ruggie grinned. “So now I have three hearts.” He tapped a finger to his chest. “One here.” He tapped his elbow next. “Another one here.”
Then he leaned forward to boop Kalim’s nose. “And my favourite one right here.”

Leona stretched languidly, “That’s gotta be the tenth time someone’s asked ya that.” She said, completely without exaggeration.
Ruggie crossed her arms across her chest and lent forward an inch, “Because you look like my butch girlfriend!” One of her hyena ears twitched, a mixture of amusement and genuine exacerbation coating her words.
“Hey," Leona warned, before her tone became equally jovial, "it takes two to be in a gay relationship.”
OR
Ruggie drags Leona to a pool party and Kalim asks if they're dating. Much to her joy: they are not. Much to Ruggie's continued annoyance: this is the tenth time someone has thought that this week. Leona thinks it's funny until Malleus asks her the same question.

Ruggie Bucchi was sure there was something either wrong with him or the world. And he really couldn't afford to go to the hospital right now, so it had to be the world.

As his fellow second year hurried away, Ruggie was left absolutely dumbfounded by the whirlwind that was Kalim. When did a single dinner turn into weeks of hanging out? He had unfortunately whisked away before Ruggie had a chance to double down on his refusal. There was nothing left to do except to see how this played out.
