Summary
Vincent first hears about Valentino in a report.
A short paragraph buried between other incidents: a bar fight, a man left bleeding, witnesses describing someone laughing while it happened. Reckless. Violent. Unstable.
When Vincent finally meets him in person, it’s in the back room of a crowded club, with a body on the floor and blood on Valentino’s hands. Most people would see a problem. Valentino is reckless, unstable, and far too comfortable with violence—but instead of turning him in, Vincent makes him an offer.
Vincent sees potential.
Because Vincent doesn’t save people.
He collects them.

Summary
“I know what you are,” the TV demon said, but now even his voice was distorted, like the irritating white noise off a TV when it was on but not set on any channel.
“Oh?” Valentino asked. “What am I? A whore? A slut? Trust me, papi, there’s nothing you can say that I haven’t heard before –”
“A shark,” the TV buzzed out, but there was a wavy smile on his screen. “You’re a shark like me.”
Valentino titled his head at the TV demon – a what? A shark?
Sharks were NOT sexy.
