“Uh, A’Yuan,” he asks slowly, just in case this is a hallucination. “Who’s this?”
“A cat,” A’Yuan says proudly, leaning his round cheek against the top of the cat’s head, while the cat continues to look at Wei Wuxian like he’s wearing week-old clothes covered in food stains.

Rin picked at her fingernails. “It wasn’t--it wasn’t impulsive. I thought about it.”
She had thought about four motherless children who seemed to thrive when she gave them attention. She’d thought about a lonely man struggling to juggle his responsibilities to the village and his responsibilities at home. She’d thought about how Daisuke was well-liked, well-respected, and quietly pitied among the villagers.
She’d thought about how much lighter burdens became when they were shared.
And she’d thought about that youkai.
“You have no wish to be his wife.”
Sesshoumaru had never had this much to say about husbands and wives before.

When Rin stumbles into an unwanted engagement with a human villager, Sesshoumaru's solution is to abduct her. Hopes quickly dashed that this is the grand romantic gesture she's been longing for, Rin will have to fight for her future.

After losing one too many spars, Mu Qing finds out that—due to new worshippers of Ju Yang in Ghost City—Feng Xin's divine power had become ever-so-slightly stronger than Mu Qing's. Mu Qing's solution? Build a following in Ghost City, too: bigger and better than Feng Xin's. The issue? Ghosts don't care for martial arts or war at all! Mu Qing would have to find something else to be worshipped for.
Thus begins Mu Qing's life as Xuan Zhen: the God of Beauty.
