Everyone knew that Asriel and Dess were best friends. They knew it, the whole town knew it, even if not all of them understood how the punk and the golden boy got along, they did.

Until they started getting older, and life happened, and naturally, as kids do, they started to drift apart.
Middle school came and went, and now they were freshmen in high school; they were practically strangers again.Neither of them knew how to change that, so they've become strangers who know far too much about another stranger and have nowhere to put that feeling.
Until one day, the perfect, track-star, golden boy, never without a smile, Asriel Dreemurr, stops smiling when he thinks no one is watching, slowly crumbling from his pedestal.
And the ones who notice aren't his friends, his teachers, or anyone close to him.
It's a stranger who knows enough to see just how scary that is. -

You see her feet begin to trace familiar steps. Is she following your lead, or is that the path she was always going to tread? Surely there's no harm in showing her the best way to dance that dance?
And so the song loops again.
Toriel is restless, starved for someone on an equal social level in a town where even the adults are a fraction of her age, and can't help but consider the only other Boss Monster in town who isn't her ex. Susie is sick of her partners expecting her to make all the decisions when she is so unsure of what she's doing, until it occurs to her that there's probably no better guidance than the town's local ancient quasi-immortal. Can the older monster provide guidance? Can the younger provide a long-term companion?
Or are those just hollow, flowery dignifications from two horny idiots about to make a bewilderingly stupid mistake?

Summary
Emilia is just your average proxy. Hiding from the cops is a weekly event, hacking inter-knot is her pastime. Whatever odd job comes her way she takes, as long as it's going to be fun. And naturally, if it pays well.
For three years, Evelyn has dedicated her life to Astra Yao. If Astra is the 1, Eve is all the 0's that follow. The light of her life, really. And yet, Astra has eyes only for some white haired proxy, while Eve nurtures a crush that she's unsure what to do with. When her contract expires all of a sudden, and Eve loses her position as Astra's closest friend and bodyguard... she learns that she resents Astra for never returning her feelings. And suddenly she isn't even sure if she wants to go back.
Everything about Pulchra can be bought, except her trust. It's her way of life, make dennies, live life to the fullest, spend it all. But she only ever does it for herself. There is no room for a second in that life, no space to take someone else onto the journey. Really, everyone in her life is replaceable on a whim. So why does it bother her so much that some random proxy has found a new Agent? Some Evelyn, who can go into hollows for Emilia, do the work Pulchra used to do.
