Summary
The war, secret from most of Elibe, has been won, and the army has broken up, all heading to their respective lands to enjoy the peace (temporary though it might be) that they fought so hard for. Some homecomings are subdued, some are joyful, but all lead to new beginnings. That's their reward for victory.
So why is Erk waking up in a strange bed within a strange house with a sinking feeling that not all of him made it out of the final battle? Why doesn't he remember how they won?
And why does it bother him so much that Serra wants nothing to do with him?

Looking back, Lyn probably should have realized what was going on from Eliwood's continual offers to introduce her and Hector.
She had just assumed that he wanted to introduce her to his best friend. Which was probably still a factor, but not the reason for the sheer amount of times. Seriously, every single letter?
In her defense, Hector hadn't figured it out either, and he had actually seen Eliwood in person over the past year.
Eliwood also should have just said something to her. It's not like Hector was the only person in Lycia to favor a Wolf Beil axe in combat. And how was she supposed to know that he had a soulmark in the first place if no one brought it up?
