“You are going home with me.”
Wolfwood bristles, but Vash doesn't look his way. His voice is low and dark.
“You are going there. And you are going to stay there until you're healthy. Then you can go fuck off wherever you want to go. And I won't stop you.”
No matter how much he resists, Wolfwood is pulled to Vash like a magnet meeting its opposite. He knows he should leave him, but something within him cannot let him go.
And after Vash's time under Legato's hold on the Arc, he's looking worse for wear. Something in him changed on that arc, and Wolfwood dares to be curious.

"One moment Vash was fighting Knives and the next he was walking across a street. The change was so abrupt that it felt like the wind was knocked out of him. He stumbled over himself, falling to his hands and knees in the middle of the crosswalk. He took a gasping breath at the disorientating shift, grasping at his side at where he was impaled to find it lacking a wound. Looking blearily at the asphalt under him, he snapped his head around trying to understand where he was."
-or Vash gets transported to another universe where he lives on earth and everything gets uprooted from there when he has to try to "fit in" into this other Vash's life.

“Watch my eyes,” the dancer commanded, and Vash tore his gaze up from the rolling body. And the moment he locked eyes with Wolfwood, it all seemed to finally make sense.
Charcoal eyes were alight in a way that Vash hadn’t noticed before from so far away. Relaxed. Brightened by interest. Filled with an infectious confidence. Enough to spread to Vash. He moved with Wolfwood, finally finding the rhythm with something to focus on. And Wolfwood’s focus was on him, too. It was almost too much to bear, being the subject of that attention Wolfwood shared only with his dance partner.
And Vash was lost in it, the humid air, the upbeat music, and especially Wolfwood, leading him into a dirty dance that had Vash feeling things he never thought he’d experience in his white picket fence life.
