    Summary

Aziraphale is firmly of the belief that, according to the old texts, three steps are all that keep one from their heart’s greatest desire. Where is the harm in attempting them? - Everywhere, apparently, as he soon finds out when he’s trapped inside his bookshop, fighting for his life.

All Crowley asks is a little more variety to his daily routine. But coming home to his flat one night to an out-of-this-century person curled up asleep on his couch is probably just the universe mocking him now.

There sure are some strange ways for two people to be brought together.

    Summary

After Aziraphale leaves, Crowley gets on with things. He reads one of Aziraphale’s favorite books. Every now and then, Aziraphale calls from Heaven. Sometimes they even talk.

Crowley awoke later that night to the sound of his telephone ringing. He fell out of his armchair, stomped over to the phone, and picked it up. “Muriel?”

“Who? Oh, no.” A pause. “Crowley? Is that you?”

It wasn’t Muriel. “The one and only,” Crowley said stupidly.

There was a long silence. “Oh,” said Aziraphale on the other end, at last.

“You sound very surprised about that for someone who called me.”

“I thought I would get your answering machine.” Aziraphale sounded quite far away, farther than usual when they spoke on the phone. Perhaps Heaven’s connection wasn’t very good.

“Well, you’ve got me,” Crowley said, without thinking about it.

    Summary

As far as Ezra Fell knows, he's an ordinary bookseller who has no reason to be so strongly attracted to the strange man in dark glasses who comes in looking for an old book. And he certainly has no reason to pursue that connection after the man goes away. He's doing it anyway.

As far as Crowley is concerned, Aziraphale was completely destroyed in 1656. But then he came back again. And again . . .

They meet in late 2007. They don't know how close they are to running out of time. They're about to find out.

    Summary

The year, 51AD. The location, a villa in Rome. While Crowley is away, lonely Aziraphale tries his hand at demon-summoning. When Crowley's angelic counterpart appears instead, Aziraphale thinks he should send him back straight away. But there are a few things they can teach him about Earthly pleasures, first. And he might just be able to offer up something else in return.

NB: Will not make much sense without reading Ultra Rosa first.

    Summary

NOW IT IS TIME FOR QUESTIONS FROM OUR LISTENERS. TODAY WE HAVE A QUESTION FROM BYLETH, COMMANDER OF THE MEPHITIC LEGIONS. OH, IT’S A QUESTION FOR THE ANGEL.

Crowley’s hands clenched on the steering wheel.

BYLETH, COMMANDER OF THE MEPHITIC LEGIONS, WRITES, “CROWLEY IS A CRAVEN TRAITOR SO WE UNDERSTAND WHY HE ASSOCIATES WITH AN ANGEL. BUT WHAT’S IN IT FOR THE ANGEL? WHAT IS HE GETTING OUT OF THIS?”

“That’s a good question,” said Aziraphale.

Crowley glared at him. “No, it isn’t.”

Cut off from access to Earth, the hosts of Hell find other ways to torment Crowley. Aziraphale provides a refuge.
