Blood was dripping down her chin now. His eyes widened as he stared at her, his jaw slack. She choked out a half-hearted laugh, “Ah shit. That hurt way more than I thought it would.”
He hurriedly rummaged through the options on his gauntlet, eventually finding the first aid items he needed. She’s always like this, he thought to himself. Always running into danger headfirst, always leaving him to deal with the consequences. But the fact of the matter was that it wouldn’t matter to him if things were different. What hurt him was the fact that she would hurl herself into danger the moment she met his scared eyes, the moment she had any chance to trade in her life for his.
Or, Five comes way too close to losing Miko.

There were very few things in life that tied Miko down.
Whether it was the other kids calling her the birthday ruiner for years, flunking a year in elementary, or Mitch’s snarky remarks, very few things could tie her down.
Sure she’d be a little down sometimes but they never truly got to her! She’d always bounce back, ready to fight the world with her grin wide.
She’d always bounce back. Every single time. No matter what the world had thrown at her. She prided herself in knowing that she’d fight back, she’d fight to win. In the ever growing battle of life, she never let the difficulty get to her. No matter how hard the battle was, she would hold her sword up high, take every hit with stride, and persevere.
So then why did this hurt so fucking bad?

“Oh, but chaton…” She let go of his hands, only so she could wrap her arms around his neck. Her own eyes began to well up again, remembering the day she’d died and the first soul she ever bumped into. “You were there to greet me.”

Adrien has mastered the art of the smile. Even while his mind is on poor behavior, when he's caught beneath a barrage of unkind thoughts to himself, he's still able to keep his smile. Attend his friends' parties, maintain small talk, get through the day — and hopefully his friends won't realize how messed up he really is.
Everyone is out-pacing him. While he's barely getting out of bed in the morning, his friends are making waves, changing lives, getting engaged.
He can't even get his girlfriend to text him back.
So, sure. Maybe he's not in the best head space right now — but 'suicidal'? Ladybug's certainly just reading too deeply into things. But if her concern for Chat Noir's mental state is enough to get her reaching out, well, he won't turn down the opportunity to chat with a friend. Besides, Ladybug seems to be having a rough go of it, too. Maybe they can help each other out.
