Sakura has some kind of allure for stray cats (which may or may not be the thing the old man had taken advantage of good-naturedly) that they both cherish taking care of. Making the cat cafe a shelter not only for him and Sakura but also for stray cats who popped in, fished by Sakura's cat-catching existence.
But looks like Sakura's peaceful cat lifestyle ended when Bofurin started its school opening.
