Summary
Continuation of Write to Me and Escape.
John's Lost Weekend happens with Paul in 1973.
...
Paul was laying on his side, hands folded under his cheek. His back facing John. While he laid flat on his back, staring at the ceiling. If someone decided to wake them up early, it would be very compromising. But that would be a later problem for them. He's too tired to think about it too much. Paul sighed, and flipped to the other side, facing him. He was bluntly staring and breathing quietly.
“What?” John whispered. Paul had an unreadable expression on his face. John turned to his side to face him too. The moonlight drifting in from the window hid the color of Paul's eyes. They were hazel. People tried to pin it down to one or another. Brown or green, but they were hazel. Always shifting from the sun's rays. In the absence of the sun, his eyes were brown. Dark brown, almost black. Glinting with white spots from the moon's shine. He could still see a small shine of green and felt satisfied knowing what should be so clear.
He knows what he wants to say. Hazel eyes gave it away easily.
I love you.

Summary
The smile that spreads across Mike’s face is involuntary, like it must exist in Will’s presence. It’s like he waters the parched soil of his mind.
Mike doesn’t realize how badly he needs him until he’s had a drink. And right now, he thinks this weekend is exactly what he’s been needing.
OR: After years of grappling with his feelings, Mike visits Will in Chicago for a weekend during his junior year of college.

Summary
Will could not help the question that burst from his lips, it had been ricocheting around his brain like a stray tennis ball and was simultaneously causing him the most excitement, distress and exhilaration he had felt in his entire life.
“Are you my husband?” he blurted. Mike blinked in surprise.
“What?”
Will lost his nerve slightly. He wondered if he had been horribly wrong about this, and maybe in this strange timeline he was just a friend staying over and maybe he’d made a mistake and the daughter wasn’t really his daughter and—
Will faltered. “Um, I — well, I just thought you were — I mean, you are my husband, right?”
Mike looked very alarmed. He was staring at Will as though he had grown a second head.
“Obviously…?” he said, “Are you feeling alright? Did your mom make you try her D-I-Y coffee again?”
When nineteen-year-old Will Byers wakes up to find himself in his forty-three-year-old body, he must—with no experience whatsoever—play the part of world-renowned freelance painter, father of two very troublesome teenagers, and most strangely of all: Mike Wheeler’s husband.

Summary
There’s something wrong with Will.
It started three weeks ago, almost four. Will had woken from some sort of nightmare and, instead of seeking comfort in Mike the way he usually would, he’d rolled out a sleeping bag from the closet and chosen to sleep on the floor.
No one believes Mike, except for Joyce. But even she doesn’t understand the full extent to which something is wrong with Will.
Mike understands, though. Mike has been paying attention.

If you like horror, very graphic, visceral, body horror. Then this is the fic for you. The way that this was written was so VIVID. I cannot understate that, it is VERY DETAILED. This was on par with the book lapvona or compound fracture w how detailed the body horror is and the internalized homophobia aspect. ESPECIALLY pertaining to Will's trauma, it is SO WELL WRITTEN. Everything about this story was so captivating, once I started reading it, I could not put it down. This author is so talented at writing horror. The angst is SO GOOD. UGH. Life changing. Unforgettable.

Summary
But it wasn’t a monster that came out of the trees. It was a person. A boy.
Mike froze.
Then he was spotted, and the boy stopped in his tracks; with skillful movements, he quickly slung the rifle off his shoulder and pointed it at Mike’s chest. Mike raised his hands while trying to keep most of his weight on his left leg.
“Whoa. Hey,” Mike said, his eyes wide as he stared at the tip of the rifle. “Just hold on. I’m not—I’m not going to hurt you.”
Or: A crawl gone wrong left Mike stranded in the Upside Down. Hurt and alone, Mike stumbles upon someone everyone told him was dead.

OH MY GOD. FUCK. this one is so good and ugh perfectly encompasses Gothic horror. The music choices are peak and everything written about Will's character is amazing. If you wanted to read the perfect fic about a will was never found au then this is it. Kudos to the author x10000000
REALLY good angst. Chapter 19 UGH. This fic gave me chills and I did cry, I wish it could be adapted into a movie or something because this fic is just that cinematic. It sucks you into the terrifying reality of surviving in the upside down along with coping with the aftermath and trauma.

Summary
When Will came out, he was relieved to be accepted by the people closest to him, especially Mike, and especially after Will made it clear to Mike that he was his crush. It was just a silly, stupid crush that really wasn’t about Mike at all. The best part is, Will got over it quickly, and they were able to laugh it off and remain friends. Things have been solid since he let those feelings go. That dumb high school bullshit is in the past. Their friendship is far too important to dwell on a crush that is doomed to be unreciprocated.
Imagine Will’s surprise when he catches Mike in a Chicago gay bar making out with another man.
Turns out, Mike is gay. So, what now? What is he supposed to do with this information? More importantly, what does that mean for them?
Friends? No thanks.
Best friends.
Or: The one where Mike is gay and Will is in the Friend Zone the whole time as he helps Mike along his self-acceptance journey.
