It softens his temper a mite; binds him tighter to his sons. Still, he remains himself - self-aggrandising, wilful and thorned.So Ñolofinwë does not lose his youngest at the Lammoth, and receives his weregild.
Begrudgingly, for the good of all, he might weigh a truce. Under the noblesse, though, he seethes hungry and ambitious.Can they build a healthy co-existence? Doubtful, given their past and dispositions. But they can try.
Meanwhile, on the great game's board move a thousand pieces: Thingol negotiates, Artanis and Celeborn court, Findaráto is more than meets the eye, and Lúthien battles the very weaves of fate. Might a less fractured Beleriand stand against Morgoth?

Eöl was the original dark elf and so Maeglin can't recover in the Halls of Mandos, Aredhel can't leave the Halls without her son, and Turgon suffers of a broken family for three bloody ages. Tired of waiting for his beloved sister, Turgon has rallied the Finwëans and Fëanorians against Námo in a war of petition attrition. Námo seems to be throwing up his hands, so maybe let the elves handle their own... except Maeglin doesn't want any of it.

Fingolfin tries to take the threat seriously.
[The first sign of the Dagor Dagorath is Finarfin throwing his crown at his advisors and going into exile.
Newly released from Mandos' Halls, Fingolfin seems to be the only person to recognize this. He must find his younger brother before he does something stupid, stop Morgoth from destroying the world, and keep everyone else in his family alive- and do all of this while his older brother follows Fingolfin around Aman like a particularly exasperating shadow.]
