Jinshi rubbed his thumb with pressure against her, in a way that admittedly felt good, like a massage. Inadvertently her toes spread at the sensation and caught his attention, but when he pulled the digit back, he curled it upwards so the edge of his nail scrapped the same path. Her whole body jerked, a noise that bordered on a squeal slipping past her teeth as she squirmed when he tickled her again, her toes scrunching in. On his knees, Jinshi took on a devious smile, one that fit the unnerving appearance of his faux burn.
"We were going to continue things, weren't we?"
or Jinshi enters Maomao's room during The Paper Village chapter of LN5 a few moments earlier, interrupting her while still washing her feet, and things go a bit differently.

Summary
Maomao tells him off constantly for his strange tastes. If Jinshi was offended by the claim, he would reflect on the fact that a woman raised in a brothel thinks of his bedroom preferences as unusual. However, he believes her to be incorrect as his tastes really aren’t unusual - they're just singular, and they are just reserved for only her.
She tells him he loses all sense when he gets like this for one measly woman, and so he vows to prove her wrong.
