Summary
‘Please?’
Eddie stops him again, this time by holding his face. Steve feels Eddie’s thumb moving over his cheek, he feels the cool metal of his rings. He feels everything except what he needs.
‘I’ve never loved anything the way I love you, Steve Harrington,’ Eddie says, dark brown eyes moving between Steve’s own. ‘This isn’t the moment, sweetheart.’
It’s not a rejection, but it’s not a kiss. Steve quietly cries, insides cut up on the broken shards of his stupid little heart and Eddie holds him, he holds him all night until they fall asleep together.

Summary
“You can be my trusted adult,” Dustin cuts in.
Steve blinks several times. “Huh?”
“You’re an adult,” Dustin says, like he’s talking to a three-year-old.
“…yes, Dustin.”
“And my mom trusts you.”
“Yeah, but…wait.” Steve sits back up, ramrod straight in his chair. “You’re not suggesting…”
“Come with me to New Zealand,” Dustin finishes, then adds a quieter: “Please?”
***
When Dustin Henderson parent-traps Steve and Eddie into taking him to New Zealand for a holiday and some Lord of the Rings sight-seeing, Steve's forced to confront the reality of what he really wants out of life. Is it working for his father in a job he despises to afford his sky-rise apartment in Chicago and the status that comes with it, or is it something else, something simpler, something truer to himself? On the windy back roads of New Zealand, amongst the most stunning scenery he's ever seen and with old flame Eddie Munson in his passenger seat, he figures it out.

Summary
“Are you alright?” Steve asks, walking over and glancing down. “Need a hand?”
“It’s fine, just leave me here.” The man in question sighs and shakes his head, eyes still closed as he lays in the middle of the sidewalk.
“I…” Steve starts, looking around at the pedestrians who peer over their shoulders as they step around the scene carefully. “I could, but then when I see a headline later that a man was found frozen to the sidewalk outside Dunkin, I’ll probably feel bad.”
Mystery Man brushes the hair out of his face and cracks one eye open— big and brown— and Steve thinks the guy might start crying.
What the fuck is going on this morning? He wonders to himself.
“Ice is fucking slippery.”
“Yeah, that’s kind of its thing. C’mon,” Steve extends a hand that Mystery Man finally accepts, his gloved hand soft and velvety in Steve’s bare hand.
“Thanks. I’m uh, I’m Eddie.”
“Steve.”
Or, Gym Teacher and Hockey Coach Steve Harrington meets Eddie Munson outside of a Dunkin Donuts. As any New Englander knows, it's the beginning of a beautiful thing.
