Where he came from or what his motives were weren't immediately clear. He and the other Kryptonians attacked out of nowhere. At first, Bruce suspected some sort of mind control. But when Kal-El swatted Bruce's green kryptonite out of his hand like it was a child's toy, laughing and unaffected, he knew it was something deeper than that. But his contingencies failed, one after another.
Bruce failed.
Kal-El brought him, beaten half to death, here. Locked him in this lonely cell… and nursed him back to health. Almost tenderly. He's healed now, but no more able to escape then when he was to injured too move. He tells himself he's biding his time, waiting for an opportunity to escape. To fight back. For Kal-El to make a mistake that he can use.
In the meantime, Kal-El comes to him every night.

“Hang on, now Darlin’,” a sudden, brusque tug pulled her down and she lost her footing, falling into his lap.
She felt his breath on her neck, his lips brushing the shell of her ear when he spoke, “I don’t think I heard you right.” She gulped, stomach dropping as one of his arms snaked around her waist, the other came up to rest on her throat. She needed to disentangle herself, to get away from him, but he was too strong, and if she was being honest, she wasn’t trying terribly hard to get away. Lucy wasn’t sure she even wanted whatever was happening to stop.
“You tellin’ me Miss Prim and fuckin’ Proper was fixin’ to sneak into my room and let me break her in before her lil boyfriend?”
