Summary
Gossan hasn't ever truly believed Feldspar to be gone, but they've been forced to give up searching. An overheard argument between Hornfels and Brookite in the observatory rekindles hope that Gossan thought long-since extinguished. They have an opportunity - just one - to bring Feldspar back home for real this time, and there is NO way they're going to pass the chance up.

Brookite has spent their life riddled with dreams and memories of a universe long since dead. They're pretty sure they know where Feldspar is and wants to bring them home, but being too honest with Hornfels about their "first order of business" in space has them being grounded, sans launch codes.
A chat with Gabbro in the Zero-G Caves has Brookite realizing that asking for forgiveness instead of permission is the only real avenue left.
